AliExpress hit with $629 million EU fine over sales of illegal, counterfeit products

Alibaba's AliExpress has been fined €550 million ($629 million) by the European Union for failing to address the sale of illegal, unsafe, and counterfeit products on its platform. This fine is the third issued under the EU's Digital Services Act, which mandates large online platforms to mitigate risks associated with illegal content and products.
